Dr.
Neal E. Craft - President
Neal Craft grew up and developed
his scientific interests on a small farm in Ohio. He received a
B.S. in Human Nutrition from Ohio State University in 1978, an M.S.
in Human Nutrition from Virginia Tech in 1981, and Ph.D. in Nutritional
Sciences from the University of Maryland in 1991.
He began his career at the USDA, Human Nutrition Research Center
in Beltsville, MD doing research in the area of trace mineral metabolism
and metabolic disease. At USDA, he began performing HPLC analysis
of vitamins and carotenoids in studies funded by the National Cancer
Institute. Neal moved to the Organic Analytical Research Division
of the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) and
served as Clinical Coordinator of the NCI/NIST Micronutrient Quality
Assurance Program involving over 50 laboratories internationally.
During his years at NIST, he taught several short courses on carotenoid
and vitamin analysis, received six U.S. Department of Commerce Performance
Awards, was involved in the production of four Standard Reference
Materials, and contributed to two inventions submitted for patent
review.
In 1994, Neal and his wife, Mannette, founded Craft Technologies,
Inc. Dr. Craft serves as the president and visionary for CTI. He
has been developing methods and measuring vitamins, carotenoids,
and phytochemicals in biological materials since 1984. In addition,
Neal is actively involved in developing methods of assessing nutritional
deficiencies in developing countries. He is coauthor of over 40
peer-reviewed articles and has made presentations at over 35 international
meetings. Neal is an adjunct faculty member at UNC-Greensboro and
a member of several professional organizations including: AOAC,
ACS, ASNS, CARIG, and IFT.
Neal and his lovely wife are the proud parents of four wonderful
children. He enjoys sports, boating, classic cars, and riding motorcycles
with his wife.

Dr. Francisco X. Arredondo
- Biomarkers Leaders
Francisco Arredondo, "Paco" a
native of Baja California, Mexico, attended medical school at the
University of Mexico (UNAM), graduating in 1979 with a residency
training in medical genetics. He moved to New York City's Mount
Sinai School of Medicine and did a post-doc (1979-1981) in gene
mapping and immunogenetics, at Dr. Robert J. Desnick and Dr. Moyra
Smith laboratories. He continued working in gene mapping and molecular
biology at the University of California Irvine (1981-1982). By the
end of 1982 he moved back to Mexico and started his own laboratory
at the Baja California Biological Research Institute (CIB) at the
City of La Paz, Baja California Sur, Mexico, there he worked in
plant genetics and fish and marine mammals population genetics.
In 1985 he attended University College London (London, UK) Galton
Laboratory as a graduate student and worked towards his PhD under
the direction of Dr. David Whitehouse and Professor David Hopkinson.
In October 1988 he obtained his PhD in genetics. He accepted a position
at Dr. Michael Hershfield laboratory at the Department of Medicine
of Duke University Medical Center (Durham, NC) . During his 16 years
at Duke he worked on inborn errors of metabolism, and molecular
and cellular biology of purine and pyrimidine enzymes. He has published
more than 35 research papers and contributed to various chapters
in several books.
Paco is married to Ines Santisteban
PhD, and they have two daughters: Laura and Gabriela. Hobbies include
jogging and riding his bicycle.
He recently joined Craft Technologies
in March 2005, as the Biomarkers Group Leader.

Angela
Busam - Office Manager
Angela (Angie) Busam is a native
of Rocky Mount, North Carolina. She has been married for 22 years
to her husband, Eric and is the proud mother of two children, Jennifer
and Andrew. She is also the proud “mom” of two cats
(BK & Isabel) and a dachshund (Hildie).
Angie began with Craft Technologies, Inc. part time in February
2002 in accounting. In May of 2002, she accepted a full time position
as office manager. Many of her duties include accounting, requisitions,
human resources, data reporting, and administrative support.
Angie’s educational and experiential background is founded
in managerial and administrative field acquired over the last twenty
years.
Since coming to Craft Technologies, Inc. an awareness of how nutrition,
the function and benefits, has inspired a desire to continue to
offer to our clients best services we can provide. Impacting our
community and the world around us, are not just clichés to
Angie, but a vision she has for the employees and clients of Craft
Technologies, Inc.
When she is not working she enjoys many other activities such as,
gardening, maintaining her fishpond, home decorating, amusement
parks, traveling and spending time with her family and pets.

Donna Springs - Quality Assurance and Control
Donna Springs is a native of North Carolina and received her degree in Chemistry from North Carolina State University. Donna Springs joined the staff of Craft Technologies as a technician in 2001 and has since been moved into the role of Quality Assurance and Control.
Since coming to Craft Technologies, Inc. Donna has exceled and has become a key person within our company with her attention to detail and a commitment to provide the best possible data to our clients.
Donna has been married to Christopher for five years and is the proud “mom” of two dogs (Sniffles and Boo) and a cat (Kitty Kat).
When she is not working, she enjoys reading, boating and wakeboarding with her husband.
